Scammer- WebJunkie

It should be noted to anyone who has joined DP recently or was unaware of the whole 'webjunkie' saga, he was a contributing member here for some time.

He was up front that he knew no html, etc but needed some help. He seemed like a nice guy and DP being the place it is, many of us bent over backward to help the guy. I know of at least 10 members that helped him by fixing code, promoting his sites, general advice through emails etc. All of these were on different payment methods.

Some people were promised links on his sites, others cash.

Basically he stiffed every one of the people who helped him (they had charged way below what they would normally charge to try to help). He sold the sites he promised to provide 'lifetime' links on and whenever cash was involved, after agreeing on terms and the work was complete, he would PM saying he is just a student and can't afford to pay them.

Then he would sell the 'fixed' or 'improved' site for a couple hundred bucks and laugh all the way to the bank.

His other stunt is to sell other peoples copyrighted code or scripts as his own. He would then sell it over and over to different people as a 'unique hand coded site'...Meanwhile he has publicly stated he doesn't even know the basics of HTML.

I wrote this short explanation just to show that we don't pick on people or criticize them for no reason. DP's marketplace has exploded over the last few months and is absolutely wonderful. We want to keep it that way and part of that is to protect members of the community. Webjunkie was and is (he still sells at other forums whose members aren't vigilant) a scam artist who preys on those who do the hard work to create unique products.

Buyer beware!

2. Do Not Consider Running the Same Yellow Page Ad until You Read This By Dr. Lynella Grant
Grant Businesses have a love-hate relationship with the Yellow Page directory On the one hand, business owners know they need to be there - even though everyone they compete against is there, too. They rightly fear their ad won't get noticed. That's why questions like, "How big should it be?" become important (along with up-grades that jack up an ad's cost). Are they worth it? Who knows!
